Hello, my name is Robert Gilders and I am a certified English Language Arts and History teacher. I graduated from Grand Valley State University with a Bachelors degree in English Language Arts and History for secondary education. I also graduated from Marygrove College with a Masters degree in Teacher Leadership.
Over the years I have had the opportunity to work as a Troubled Youth Mentor, English Teacher, Writing Teacher, Adult Education Teacher, Interventionist, Homebound Teacher, Virtual Academy Mentor, and a Distance Learning Teacher. All of these various experiences have helped shape me into the educator I am today.
In my classroom I focus on teaching students how to solve problems, analyze situations, explore options, think independently, work as a team, and become their own advocate for learning. Teaching and guiding students to achieve these goals helps set them up for long-term success while allowing them to follow their individual passions.
